Whether or not you've practiced kendo before, please get in touch. New members are always welcome to our small club, and the atmosphere is friendly and enjoyable.
Practice is on a Friday evening, at Saint Paul's church, in Efford.
The British Kendo Association (BKA) is the official governing body for Kendo, Iaido and Jodo in the UK, as recognized by the Zen Nippon Kendo Renmei (the foremost body in Japan for these martial arts), the International Kendo Federation and Sport England.
Plymouth Kendo Club, represents this association in the Plymouth area.
Kendo is a dynamic sport, with it's roots firmly in the traditions of the ancient sword technics of Japan. Not only is it highly enjoyable, but it's also great for developing speed and stamina, as well as a strong 'spirit', and a greater confidence.
Many of the strategies and techniques of kendo, can be carried over to every day life.
It is highly regarded in Japan, as a way of personal development, and for many, it can even prove to be life changing.
